Acts 10:1-48
We all live our adult lives based on what we are taught as children, so it isn’t a surprise Peter would have struggled with relating to the gentiles of his day. He was trained from his earliest days that he was to be separated from the gentiles because he was supposed to live a holy life withing the Law of Judaism. You can imagine the shock that he must have experienced when God told him that he needed to interact with gentiles and eat food that had been forbidden to him all his life. But to God, this was important because Peter as a leader of the new church needed to understand that God’s salvation wasn’t just for the Jews, it was for all of us.
